Egnyte

Overview

The Egnyte integration gives Bumblebee read-only access to your Egnyte MSP reseller dashboard. Use it to report on how much storage and how many seats each client domain is consuming, across your whole fleet, without opening the Egnyte portal.

It is deliberately read-only. Egnyte's MSP API can also allocate power users, purchase licenses, and provision trials; Bumblebee does not wrap those.

Prerequisites & Setup

Before connecting Egnyte, you need:

  • An approved Egnyte MSP partner account. Without one, Egnyte returns no reseller data even after a successful sign-in.
  • An Egnyte user who can sign in to the domain you want to connect.

You do not need to register an Egnyte developer application or generate an API key. Bumblebee connects through its own Egnyte application, so there is nothing to paste.

Connect in Bumblebee

  1. Go to the Integrations page in Bumblebee
  2. Select Egnyte
  3. Optionally enter your Egnyte domain — just the subdomain, e.g. acmemsp for acmemsp.egnyte.com. Leave it blank and Egnyte will ask which domain to connect.
  4. Click Connect Egnyte, sign in, and approve access

Bumblebee stores only your domain and the resulting access and refresh tokens. It never receives or stores your Egnyte password.

Access tokens last 30 days and refresh automatically. If someone changes their Egnyte password or revokes the application's access, the connection stops working and you will need to reconnect.

Available Tools

list_msp_domains

Lists every customer domain you manage, with storage and seat consumption for each. This is the tool behind any fleet-wide report.

Optionally filter to a single plan by name.

get_msp_domain

Returns the same detail for one customer domain, plus its monthly cost, purchased features, and data sources — the cost side of a chargeback report.

Reading the numbers

All storage values are whole gigabytes.

FieldMeaning
usedStorageWhat this client is actually consuming
allocatedStorageThe quota assigned to this client
availableStorageThe total pool belonging to you, the MSP

A client's remaining headroom is allocatedStorage - usedStorage.

availableStorage is easy to misread: it is your MSP-wide pool repeated on every row, not per-client headroom, so it should never be added up across clients. Summing usedStorage across clients is correct and gives total fleet consumption.

Seat fields follow the same shape, where Pu means power users and Su means standard users: used and unused are per client, while available is your shared pool.

Example questions

  • "How much storage is each of my Egnyte clients using?"
  • "Which clients are closest to their storage quota?"
  • "How many power user seats do I have unused across all clients?"
  • "What does the Acme domain cost me per month?"
